Subject: Incredibly stupid PP2012 noob question

Gareee ( ) posted Mon, 21 November 2011 at 10:53 AM · edited Sat, 18 January 2025 at 7:51 PM

I should know this, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out, and I'm sure its uber easy.

In PP2012, in the library, how do you remove a runtime? If I select one I've added, the delete key doesn't delete it, there's no drop down to remove it, no right click option, and no remove runtime button at the bottom.

Use Windows Explorer and delete that folder.

I never tested, but the delete library icon does not work?

OK, figured it out.. if you have library show selected, you don't see the option to remove them. (Which seems like an odd oversight)

If you specifically show a selected library, THEN you see the remove library icon.

Guess I need to submit a feature request.

I did not realize that condition.  Filed away for future reference.

I just checked, and it did change from pp2010.

Bug report filed with them.

They will just say that was by design or a feature. That has been their stand on not fixing P8 or 2010 default tool selection.

True, but if people keep pestering them about it, they might do something about it. This is not the first time the issue came up. Most likely not the last.

That is not a change since PP2010 - it has always been that way since the first version of the new library.

It's not intuitive - because the goal was to save space. It's a button you hardly ever need.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Not to be argumentative, but there's a ton of space for the button at the bottom of my library palette, and also at the top, where it appears when you have only one library selected.

It seems like a slower workflow to have to display nly that one rutime first, and then delete it, than to see it in a list, and not be able to.

If the library has focus, I'd think the delete button could also be used to launch the usual, "are you sure you wanna delete this" dialog popup.
