Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
If this is Windows 7 or Vista, and if it was previously installed in the Program Files (or Program Files (x86)) folder then the many files Poser 4 places in it's own application folder, including the .rsr cached geometry files, will have been shunted to the Virtual Store and will have been missed when you copied. Go to the Poser 4 folder in Program Files and look at the button bar just over the file and folder panels - the should be a Compatibility Files button, click it and you will be taken to the VirtualStore folder from which you can copy the missing files and paste them into your cloned version.
May be a stupid question but have you installed all the Service Releases? P4 was a cranky beast without 'em.

This is absolutely baffling. My Poser 4 (no apologies, a fine program) works perfectly but, suddenly, when copied to another drive, internal or external, it no longer does. The difference? Characters and objects open OK but are invisible. The folders and files are exact copies; compatibility with XP is selected; there are no viruses; everything is absolutely the same between the two sets of folders and files. In the past I have always been able to duplicate Poser in other drives. What can the problem be?
