Subject: Layered image in material room

ShaaraMuse3D ( ) posted Tue, 29 November 2011 at 9:27 AM · edited Mon, 09 December 2024 at 2:22 PM

I am trying to work out how to add a transparent png on top of a base image in the material room, but can't get it to work properly. The base image is attached to the diffuse node.

I've tried using the alternate diffuse, but the png turns out all white, even though the transparancy seems to work as it should.

Is there any other way to get this to work properly?

You will need to use a blender node to be able to combine the 2 images.  I am not currently at my own computer, so someone will come along with the specifics on how to accomplish this.  Otherwise I would post examples and links.

I tried the blender node, unfortunately it just gives me 50/50 of each image, rather than 100% background image, with the transparent image 100% strength on top of it. :(

Try a "Color_math" node and multiply them

I looked through the thread that you posted vilters, and I got it. :) The trick to using the blender node seems to not just split and use the two images, but also use the blending connection and value to max, to filter with the transparancy.

Thanks for the help!
