Vue 8.1 - 8.5 had trouble with Poser 8 importing. You may have better results importing Poser 7 figures. Vue 9 imports Poser 8. Vue 10 imports Poser 2012 in 64-bit only, as of now.

That's discouraging. If I bought Frontier 10 I wonder if I can import the figures and then save the out as .vob files for import into complete. I can't afford the $300 upgrade price for Vue 10 Complete right now.
I've read that Collada won't import Poser figures with conforming clothese properly. I'll have to experiment, I'd settle for static Poser imports until I can get a price break or save up enough money for 10.
Do you get the warning message when loading the pz3 with reposing enabled? It says something along the lines of "this will use alot of resources. Do you want to turn it off?"
You need to answer "No" to this question in order for Vue to enable reposing. If the question does not pop up, you have it disabled at some point by checking "do not ask again" and it is stuck at "yes". You need to go into options and "restore messages".
However, I agree, reposing overall works pretty poorly (very sluggish) when compared to directly posing collada imported skeletons (from DAZ Studio). The reposing is sort of useable with lots of ram (12 Gb or more) for small adjustments.

I'm running Vue 8 Complete 64 bit and just reinstalled Poser 8 for Poser export to Vue purposes. I can import the Poser figures okay, but I am unable to use the repose feature in Vue. My model appears to be a static Poser figure even when I select "repose in Vue" option. I am able to go back to Poser and repose the figure and Vue will update it, but the repose feature is not available when I select the edit figure button.
Could this be because I'm using 64 bit Vue and 32 bit Poser 8? I can't figure it out, my system has 16 GB of ram so the resources shouldn't be an issue. Any ideas.
In the near future I'm upgrading to Poser Pro 2012. I can then use collada export with rigging. I noticed though in the experiments I tried that the texture maps don't show up as well and there are transparency problems when using Poser 8 for the export (which does not support exporting rigging). Do you think I will get better Collada results once I'm using Poser Pro 2012?
