There isn't one, that's why the "Like button"  nonesense used by sites is so intrusive. Because the code for this stuff is actually coming from Facebook itself, the best you can do (other than not having an account) is to be logged out of Facebook, use NoScript to block Facebook, and clear Facebook cookies unless you're actually using Facebook.

Not being tracked by Facebook is tricky, and pretty much liekly to be too much bother if you have an account with them.

Is that legal?

aeilkema ( ) posted Sun, 18 December 2011 at 7:45 AM

Legal? Yes, because by signing up you agreed to their terms of service. You gave them permission to invade your privacy and allow them to sell your details. Most people don't realize that free comes at a cost.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

I use two browsers.  Palemoon and Firefox.  One is for facebook only and is never used for other sites.  The other blocks facebook cookies and will not even log in to facebook if i try.

Also if you are on facebook, dont put anyting there that you dont want the whole world to know.

Willy is right.  I use a separate browser for facebook and never use it for anything else.  That is really the best way to deal with them.

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

How can you tell Facebook is accessing your Rendo account... or vice versa?

Hello,

if you don't intend to use facebook at all, then under Windows, you can make the following entries in your hosts file (located in C:WindowsSystem32driversetc ).

127.0.0.1 login.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 blog.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 apps.facebook.com

Best regards,

   Michael

Try deleting your facebook cookies on your web brower.  Or rendo cookies   Cookies are files that store certain information about a site's visitor so that if you return to a website, it knows you have visited it before.

you can also download firefox addons like betterprivacy that will automatically delete supercookies/tracking cookies.

WandW ( ) posted Sun, 18 December 2011 at 3:44 PM

I have third-party cookies disabled, and I use noscript with Firefox, and have facebook.net blocked, which seems to allow both sites to work without intereacting...

I have to use Facebook for my consulting gig. Plus I need an outlet for my nonsensical "artwork".

Quote - I use two browsers.

An alternative with the same result, is to create one (or more) additional profiles for FF.
This allows you to have completely different add-ons and settings etc.
