Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 1:08 pm)

Subject: (just for fun). Something to make experts cringe

timarender ( ) posted Thu, 22 December 2011 at 8:44 AM · edited Sat, 18 January 2025 at 10:56 PM

I am relatively new to Poser. As I learn more, I can see more of my mistakes (and missed opportunities). And now, after reading all the threads in this Forum, I agree with the sentiment 'the more one finds out, the less one knows'.

Here is one of my songs and animation. Good for a newbie amateur - but nothing like the glorious images I see posted throughout this Forum.

It's not the worst thing I've seen created in Poser, and it's certainly not terrible enough to be funny.

But this is.

Windows 10 x64 Pro - Intel Xeon E5450 @ 3.00GHz (x2)

PoserPro 11 - Units: Metres

Adobe CC 2017

Well we all had to start somewhere.
Fortunately time has erased My first poser animation efforts.
That guy "falling" into the water at 1:55 was hilarious!!

Glad you're having fun with Poser. That's the part a lot of people forget. BTW, having lived in "hollar" country, no one would shoot the mailman. Especially around the time the checks are due . Keep having fun.

My question is, "Where did you get that Gretsch?"  And a 5122 to boot?  I need that!

It goes wonderfully with the music; I enjoyed it... 😄

Thank you all for your kind words.

AFAIK, all the props are available 'free' with licences allowing non-commercial use. I think the Gretch came from http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/guitar-3d-model/368259 , but I can provide you (PrecisionXXX) with the 3ds file which I used.

Thanks to cspear's link to the cow clip. I feel alot better after watching that rubbish. Are there alot of Poser animations on YouTube other than the 'tutorials'? Perhaps by the time anyone can create the animation; they are off selling their skills somewhere.

Good! And when I see some of the images in these Forums (e.g. Staffs Picks) I think how lovely if I could see them move.

I have a computing and music background, not an art/design one. My drawing skill are practically zero. As a result, I shall continue to follow this Forum, in the hope of eventually making sense of it all. (My YouTube channel contains my earlier animations, but they won't appeal to everyone.)

Redistribution probably not a good idea, but when looking, I never thought of Turbosquid.  Many thanks for the link, I've been looking for that for a long time.  I have a 5122, as well as two 5120.  Not their top of the line, but beautiful to play.  Thanks again.

Hmm.  So much for the squid.  Three attempts to sign on, two of my user names already taken, probably by myself, but the same problem, the sign  up doesn't work, and you can't even get help without signing on.  Thanks for the try, anyhow.  GUess I pass on this one.  My error, their model is a 6122, a bit different in price.  Like two thousand dollars..
