Subject: new user , question about content library

Hi all,

after spending the yesterday with Poser Pro 2012, i had some questions and thoughts about it in general. I'm pretty new to 3D and have been using DAZ3D prior to trying Poser.  The reason I'm trying Poser is because it looks like Poser can do animations alot easier and the renderings in Daz3D don't seem that nice unless you buy an additional 3rd party renderer.  Plus it seems everyone is using Poser (merchants, etc)

anyways, my thoughts so far on Poser is that it was very difficult to manuever in Poser. If I wanted to zoom in and out, it is not as easy as in Daz3d (middle mouse wheel) and basically trying to adjust the view to look at the model in different angles is very cumbersome in Poser. In Daz3D you just click on a box and turn it that way you want to.

Another big drawback so far in Poser is the whole content file system.  I'm aware of the directory structures but it's going to be a big pain if I have to manually go to each directory to load up things. For example, if I wanted to load V 4.2 with morphs+++, it took me awhile to figure it out, and I'm not sure I did it right. It would be nice if I can just click on a single thing to load it up (like the way Daz3d does with its power loader).

So my questions are is there an equivalent "Content Management" system in Poser? And what is that favourite tab for? I can't seem to add any of the content / files to it....

and.... is it possible to use or import my own content libary into poser (i mean all the organizational references / favourites  I made in Daz 3d).  Hope that makes sense, basically I spent alot of time in Daz3d organizing content to proper structure  and was wondering if I can use that in Poser

thanks

Luckily there is NOT a content manager.
It eats resources.

If you want to learn Posers options and possibilities FAST?

Goto Window
Goto Quick start
There are 6 chapters these, with text and video's.
Read the words, and look at the video's.

Most of your questions get anwered.

Actually there is something similar as the (smart) content system for Poser. It is made by Semidieu at Runtime DNA. It is the library Manager 2.0.

Have a look at http://www.runtimedna.com/ShaderWorks-Library-Manager-2.html

Be sure to watch the videos so you can see if that is more to your liking

@vilters i'm not sure about the daz3d content resource manager eating resources since i dont notice any issues or slowness  on my machine when running it (dell desktop intel i5 sandy bridge 8gb ram)
