You get really sick and are bedridden for two weeks. When you finally get out of bed and try to get back into posering you discover that someone was trying to suprise you with installing Windows 2k on your pc...... but didn't realize that pretty much none of your hardware is W2k compatable....so they try to remove it before telling you and accidentally formats your Hard drive .....wasn't that nice of them.....8^) No big deal, Right. Because you were smart enough to backup all those gazillion poser downloads that you have gotten over the last couple of years............um ........you DID do that.....didnt you?. Well, this happened to me SIGH Well, I did have some backed up, but not much. So instead of trying to create poser art I have been Scouring the internet and dowloading all the old stuff I can remeber where to find(Thank God for DSL). The most "fun" part is unzipping and installing all of them. That seems to eat up my ram like crazy....(wich is the reason I wanted Win 2k in the first place). Any way just thought I would share this with the community......BACKUP YOUR STUFF!!!!! BTW- One important thing I cant remember were I got it is the Big Face Lion, Tiger and Wolf......OH MY! 8^) can anyone help me find them. Thanks, Joe

The "Bigface" remapping may have been from Bloodsong stored at poserworld. Not sure where it's stored now.

try Bloodsong's site. www.3dmenagerie.com I think they might be there in the Goodies section.

Well.....after 30 years of being someones "Mom", I decided last October, that I would be getting a computer "Of My OWN", since then, I have had no problems, other than those that occur with "Windows ME". Now, when something goes wrong........at least, I know what happened!. Genny

Mine will do that just when it wants attention. It gets jellus you know... but I know exactly what you meen. I wound up buying a maxtor 80 gig external fire wire drive just to back up stuff. Last time it hapend to me I lost a lot of stuff and didn't have DSL. -Gabe-

An 80 gig backup drive?!? that's more than the combined total of ALL my beasties dead and alive. :( Note, someone forfeited a longstanding friendship a few years back by getting into my computer and updating my software while I was out and he a guest in my home. He had no rights to explore my machine, much less change anything. It was a work beastie full of confidential information. People may think they are doing a favor, but nobody should change anybody's software without warning, permission, and backing up first. That is more than courtesy, it is common sense. Carolly

80 gig's because of poser Max and photoshop. most of my photography is shot in digital now. I have over 10 gigs of underwatter work alone. The 80 gig drive was cheep too I think it was $300.00 at Staples. -Gabe-

If anyone touches my system without my sayso I go ballistic. It's fairly hardy - but I have all sorts of weird kludges running to keep it happy - so an inexperianced user can make the whole thing bomb in a bad way. Which is why a) my system is locked down 6 ways to sunday and b) I backup all working files once a week regular and c) all my downloaded stuff get stored on zip until I hit 500 megs and then the whole collection gets recompiled (for organization) and reburned to CD. I'm up to the 4th burn and four cd's of poser stuff. Sorry to hear about your loss - and I must say the timing (considering the closure of Poserworld and Fairywood) is pretty vile :P Go shoot the well meaning person. It's justified :)
