I tried a couple of years ago to get donations of older versions of Poser and Photoshop so I could install them for my students. Didn't have much luck. But I'm with you on the concept. I've got several computer games I don't play because I can't remember what keys to push to make them do anything. ; }
My Poser 4 doesn't run on Windows 7 64 bit (at least I can't get it to work). It does run on Virtual Box where I have Windows XP Pro 32 bit installed..lol. And yes, I actually did install it :P. I do get nostalgic every now and then and there are some really nice characters I bought for Posette and Dork back in the day ;).
As for the image on the case...that IS awesome. Some didn't need firefly to make a beautiful image. Anyone remember the Four Seasons image? It's the one that inspired me back in the day...hehe.

Quote - Y'know, the promo image is actually pretty good considering this dates from around 2000 (pre-FireFly). I wonder if it was actually rendered in Poser, or exported to something like C4D?
It was indeed rendered in Poser 4; pre-Firefly. Martin Murphy. It was retouched in Photoshop for sure. His Pro Pack hero is image #13 in the gallery. The number 12 image in this gallery is one of his most famous 3D images from the late 90's. Image #10 was a piece he rendered for us that was used for a series of Poser 4 illustrations. He was a joy to art direct.

Posser 4 came with a 3d paint program on it. Never could get it work. The menus are screwy looking. Read something about a 2gb partition limit. tried it on a 1mb flashdrive. didn't work.

Number 12 was the image I was referring too...lol. Always loved that one. I'd never think of anything like that myself ;). I forgot about "Autumn Flirts with Winter" (#10 - actually what I thought the 4 seasons one was called) as well....another favorite of time from times (and versions) past. :)

Hey Robyn/Steve
I remember being very impressed with Martin Murphy's images! Time to check his website again!

Poser 4 Pro Pack, still factory sealed. ^^
(And no, I don't have the base P4 program for it.) I didn't get into this until midway through the P6 era. I was searching for something quite else, and Amazon popped up a promo for Poser 6. I was intrigued at the idea of being able to make CGI art on a home computer. I bought P6 and bought my first PC, then had to learn to use both.
