Subject: Freebies that are nothing but .OBJ files

Every now and then I'll download a freebie, usually a character of some kind, that consists of nothing but .obj files. How am I supposed to install these?

OS: Windows 10 64-bit, Poser: 10

File > Import > Wavefront object.

Then save to prop library if required.

To add to what Phil said, you can then open the Props folder and click on the Plus (+) Sign and save it to your Props folder so that the next time you use it it will be in your Props Folder.

This is how you save a "smart prop" too.

And if by "a character of some kind" you mean a custom morph of a Poser figure, select the body part it applies to (usually the head), and go to Object > Load Morph Target in the menu.

And sometimes you may actually find textures for it; not often, but sometimes. Sometimes you can use your built-in textures, which 'sorta works.

I've noticed the .mtl (I'll say 'texture mapping, or uvmapping, but I'm hardly the expert) files don't often transfer to Poser, but others would know this better...
