Indoda ( ) posted Wed, 29 February 2012 at 11:47 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 11:40 PM

Hello

I am sure this can be done but I want to be safe.  Should have been watching more carefully when P9 was installing but . . . new to Win 7 and P 9 too.

I want to move the content to the D: partition  a logical drive from C:userspublicdocumentsPoser 9 Content  a primary drive partiton

System

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, 4 gigs RAM, 1 TB drive partioned 1 Primary 3 Logical

Poser 9 SR1

I couldn't see any reason not to except if there are any absolute pathways imbedded in any of the content.  You could copy, test, and if everything appears in order, delete the old runtime.

Edit: you may need to reestablish your runtime in the library by relinking from the new location.

mm, i'm not confident it's safe to move the main runtime.  Poser may not find python scripts, etc.

external runtimes are flexible

Actually, that is a good point which I didn't think about.

You can move the content Runtime, you'll need to correct the path (the path for the "Downloads" Runtime will likely need doing unless you want to leave that in the default location) in LibraryPrefs.xml and LibraryState.xml

The Runtime in the program directory has to remain where it is (but you shouldn't be installing anything other than scripts that have to be there in it).
