Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
Yes and No
You can get a morphed genesis figure in Poser
You can get a conformed clothing with the morphs in Poser
But if the morphs involve scaling, the conforming cloth will not fit properly because the conforming does not include some of the scaling
If you want a static figure, you can export from DS and import in Poser. But that object is not rigged, so you can only texture it and render it
Conform the exported clothing (make sure you have Copy Morphs, Scaling and Match End Points checked in the properties of the Body of the clothing) to the exported Genesis and then, with the clothing selected, using Copy Joint Zones From under the Figure menu may work. If you change any morph settings, you will likely need to repeat the Copy Joint Zones.....
I've only tried it with native Genesis clothes, not any converted clothes...

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I have not been succesfull with the Copy Joint Zones. At least not with morphs like V5, Child, Pearshaped and other scaled morphs. As far as I can tell the actual joints are not moved across the axis. You can do that in Poser and it works for the creature itself, but it does not translate to the conformed clothing The Copy joint zones may work if the zones cover the axis translation

What I would really like to be able to do is take advantage of DAZ Studio's ability to have clothing morphs follow figure morphs (especially with Genesis) when posing, and then take the result and texture it (using Mat poses and material collections) and render in Poser. So I could, for example, take Genesis with the V4 morphs, conform (in DS) a wedding dress on it, morph it to look more like Freak, and then get it into Poser.
Has anyone any experience with this? I know that there are ways to export Genesis proper, but can you take conformers with it?
thanks.
