Subject: Help - which morphs fix V4's shoulders

MartinW ( ) posted Wed, 04 April 2012 at 4:13 AM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 10:00 PM

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm not here much nowadays.

Playing with V4 lately, I rediscovered her hunched up shoulders.

I vaguely remember that someone was fixing this, but looking here (and elsewhere) there seem to be several different fixes.

So - which fixer is the best? Which interferes least with character sets that have morphs in them?

Cheers...CH

I have used the corvas ones in the past but I have just tried the new pack from

Xameva and meipe and, as with the others from this range, they are first class

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

I spent the whole weekend trying to make joint controlled shoulderfix morphs, they worked fine and looked rather good, but it was a lot of work. Yesterday I was unhappily surprised to see the new shoulderfixes of Xameva and Meipe. Why didn't they come a week earlier?

I bought them immediately. LOL

Best regards,

Bopper.

PS. It was a lot of fun making the morphs. I'm beginning to understand how the CR2-file works.

Corvas fixes rock.  There's even a fix set for SP3.

If only someone would make an arm fix set for Simon and the G2 men.  :dreams:

Will DuPre didd a free fix as part of the DAZ 24 days of Christmas, either 2008 or 2009.  It's probably still there if you search the Forum...

or, there's always V4WM by PoserPlace, available in the link in my sig. Fixes a fair bit more than just shoulders. Will only work in P9+, though.

The latest 'Perfect' fix was inspired by the CV fix, which is a staple in many of our runtimes. We looked at what we could improve and add, including when V4 raises her arms above her head. Our fix is more advanced - it changes dynamically depending on how V4's shoulders/collars are posed. It's made up of 100+ morphs that blend/change automatically.

Sorry I'm not trying to sound like an infomerical, lol. ;) We're very proud of it though, it was our hardest fix to create yet, because we had to deal with not just the shoulders, but the collar movements too.

100+ Morphs! Wow!. I had only five morphs. Now I understand why you have to make a new CR2 with all the extra channels. The channels in the original V4 are hardly enough for that.

Two questions: can you load all the perfect morphs (hand, feet, arms, shoulders and so on) without any conflicts or have to make a new CR2 for every fix. And: are you also working on a knee-fix set?

My deepest respect!

Bopper.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I'll answer these then flee! Yes, we designed all morphs to work together and they'll all work on the same 'Perfect V4'. We planned ahead so that the script from our first fix would create a V4 that would have all the channels needed for the rest.

A knee/calf bend fix is planned yes. ;) Most likely by the end of this month.

Thanks all for the replies.

Is there, then, a fix for all of V4's joint problems?

FWIW I use P7, so V5/Genesis is no use to me.

Cheers...CH

...nor for that matter any weight-mapped characters. Fair enough.

As a soldier in the V4 shoulder wars, I now use both

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/simpledetails-v4lite/70402

and the "Perfect" series.

Here is one more clue. In my opinion V's shoulders are up-hunched in the default. There is a morph to fix it called "shoulder shrugg" which I think is part of Morphs++. I always jump right on that dial and pull her shoulders down, usually to -.6 and that relieves the tension a lot.
