Hi all, totally new at this so bear with me please S Don't know if I'm in the right forum ... Just did a tutorial on making a simple hat in Rhino and now I want to make that hat fit the figure I put it on. Fits ok but if I save it in the props menu and then want to put it on the figure again it isn't on her head.... Can anyone tell me how to do that, conform or making it a smart prop that will land on her head? Thanks in advance for any advize S Caro

Caro Click on your hat object in poser. Then click on the set parent button. Set the object at the next window by gently clicking the word head. Now it is a smart prop to the head of the figure you set it on. Save your hat now. At the popup it will ask you if you want it saved as a smart prop. Say yes. Ron

Ron, Thanks for the hints. I did the parenting to the head part. After that I opened the prop librarie and saved it, but it never asks if I want to save it as a smart prop... What am I doing wrong? The only thing that pops up is the window where I can put a name for the prop and an option that says "select subset" there I can select the hat and then klick ok and it is the prop menu... Caro

make sure when you are saving it you have the hat selected. If that does not work post a screen shot of what you are getting. Also try doing it with just the hat as a prop and nothing else on your figure. Hope this helps. Ron

Caro Also make sure you are in your props library when trying to save it. Ron

Should I click "inherent bends" to?

ronmolina ( ) posted Tue, 01 May 2001 at 10:03 AM

No do not click inherent bends. That works for some parts but not the head. Ron

WOEPIE I got it S What I did wrong is in the select subset window selecting the hat and by that the window asking to save it as a smartprop didn't popup.... Now it is right where I put it on her head hehehe Thanks Ron S Caro
