Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
Dunno offhand, but my little Samsung RC512 (bought a close-out model last year) has held up very well so far. Funny thing is the model said it could only do 6GB, but I have 8 happily running on the box.
Since last July, I've only experienced a blown HDD (I tend to work them a bit hard), but otherwise it's worked quite well.
Meanwhile, I'm saving my pennies for a MacBook Pro.
(Now if I could find a decently-priced laptop with a Core i7 and was easily Hackintoshable, I'd just go that route... :) )

I'm looking for a new laptop to replace my Dell Inspirion 1545 (Intel P8600, 4Gb Ram, Radeon HD4330 256mb, WinXP) with something like an Acer Aspire 5560-63426G32MN AMD A6-3420M 1.5 GHz, 6 GB DDR3 RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6520G, Win7 64bits).
Anyone know if this setup is any good for Poser. According to the test reports I've seen it should be considerably faster then what I do have now. It also has more ram, even though the gfx card will use some of that. My main reason for upgrading is more ram and a better graphics card. The 4330 is mediocre, it's OK, but for OpenGL previews it's not good, neither for DirectX previews on other apps I do use. I've got a limited budget, just don't want to spent too much and this is one of the best I can get within my limit.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....
