Subject: Snow Machine update

Windows version updated to v2.2.0
Mac version to follow.

This update adds a 'presets menu' which you can populate with your own presets.

There is also an import/export facility so that presets can be shared.

An example presets file is included from which you can import a selection of presets.

Cheers,
Snarly

Thanks a lot, mate!

BTW, if you ever find the time/inclination to make the material room hack for Poser Debut, I'd be extremely grateful.  In fact, I'll even let you have some of my Dalek models at cost price.  :D

You make very interesting things and it's always good to hear you are improving them!

One of these days I plan to actually try using these cool tools you have generously provided.  But knowing how some of them work (in theory) I will just enjoy seeing others work until then...

Here's an idea, a bit elaborate but suited to the type of things you are able to do...  Could this shader be adapted to create rainfall effects?  I have always wanted a shader thingie that would apply an animated ripple bump map to horizontal surfaces while largely ignoring the vertical ones and could also make things look "wet" (and then rainfall would be composited over the result).  Maybe your SnowMachine could already do this?  I was thinking animated clip, but might be possible with noise/maths, too.

A companion shader might be needed to blend trickling water onto the vertical surfaces but I don't really know what's happening under the hood well enough to say how a vertical snow machine might work...

I have a mildly odd request....

any chance of a 'flooded' python script? something that will make all the items in scene wet looking up to a certain depth, damp for a bit after that and dry above the water mark?

to be used in conjunction with a water plane and water shaders of course.

Thanks,
Lyrra
