The other is DAZ Studio. Out of 10 characters who were fine in 4.5RC3, only 5 now work in the final 4.5 Release version. They have fixed the missing geometry problem on the Nemesis but now have nobody to drive it.

The whole set. The fact is that if you install Reality 2.5 in Studio 4.0 you end up with a broken plugin. So, I have to be careful and monitor the updates and stay on top of possible accidents like that.

I can't manage two versions of the plugin, one for DS4.0 and one for 4.5. So, today we switch to Studio 4.5 and Reality 2.5.

I use selective body part scaling for my characters, 4.5 has introduced a bug where conforming hair figures don't fit properly. This didn't happen in the earlier 4.5 versions.

So, any of my scaled characters who have conforming, not prop hairs don't work. That adds up to around 50%.

If they are not scaled, hair fits as it should. Prop hair fits as well. It also fails to fit V4 hair on a scaled genesis but only when certain parts have been scaled.

So I either wait until it gets fixed and (if required) Reality gets updated again or look for different hair models for the affected characters. That means changing around 15 scenes as they are saved in three versions; normal V4, Perfect V4 and Perfect V4 with Genitals.

I could drop the Normal V4 and just remove the Perfect V4 morphs when required.

Yeah what sahrkey said BTW there is a studio 4.5 update soon to be realeased im waitin' for that..

I think I'm going to start tagging everything I post on dA with "nude naked breasts" even if it doesn't have any and see if that increases my views. 

Wouldn't it be great if DAZStudio didn't break every time it went up a notch!

So why did I just upgrade to 4.5?  It runs at about half the speed of the last version and I don't see any new features that mean anything to me.  Think someone else said it before, lags like crazy when I browse my content. 

I read about the geometry shell and that sounded intersting but so far I have no idea how to use it.

Thanks for the heads up Brad I think I will stick with my current set up for the time being. If you decide to revert back and have problems system restore is your friend. It was mine this morning..

I think Daz is going to do to itself what 2K sports did for it's hockey video game franchise...

Perhaps if I were to revert back to 3Dlight and wanted faster rendering times I would chance it but as you say since we use Reality / Lux its not needed until the bugs are resolved.

That black plastic handle on the ratchet was quite a challenge to model I must say.

Smoothing in DAZ Studio gives me headaches though, even set as low as three it causes artefacts.

I've also started to have a bit of a play with modelling, using Solidworks and Hexagon, I used Solidedge back in 2001 for a while so I'm having to re-learn everything so it's going to take a while, just done a model of one of my toys (50 Shades still in my head!) to break myself in...
