Subject: Animation - Walk distance and starting dynamic clothes

If I have my units set in Inches in Poser, and the average step length for a person walking is 31 inches, do I just "translate" her in the direction I want 31.0 for each stride?  So if she is taking 10 steps, at the end animation frame I should have her 310.0 in the direction I have?  Is that right?

Also for Dynamic clothes, do you start the animation with the T-Pose so that the dynamic clothes work, and then trim the resulting animation?  Is that a typical workflow?

Thanks!

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

It all depends on the stride you are using for the walk. Some of mine are up to 36 inches. It will take some experimentation to see how it works for you.

If you look at the walk starting about marker 20 in this one it is set to about 36 inches.

Warning: Almost nudity in this video, but not quite.

I always start with the T-Pose for the dynamic clothing and cut out the fames I don't want.

One more question...

If you have poses in the library, and I have a 30 frame animation loaded...if I go to frame 15 and then double=click load a new animation, does it insert it?  I guess I could just try it...

Thanks for the info!

It depends on how it was created. Some motoblocks work like that and some do not. You will just have to give it a try and see what happens.

Take a look at this page for extending cycles:

Hint: use contrl C to copy and Contrl P to paste. That works better for me. And the position of the paste is based on the pose of the first frame you copy.
