Subject: Issue with PP2012 import into Vue 10 Complete

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

I just don't know what to do at this point. Had I known, in all honesty I might not have upgraded either program in light of how NOT helpful the tech support for both companies have been. Seems neither of them want to help me.

I just recently purchased Vue 10 Complete, as in last week. I was all kinds of excited in light of the improvements to Vue 10, and the ability to use the weight mapped version of V4. Vue runs great on my machine.

However, no matter what I do, I cannot get any pz3 files to import into Vue. I keep getting the same error over and over: It says there is an error in the SDK and it cannot read the pz3 file. I have tried ALL the SDk file options for Poser imports. I have reset my options so many times now, I lost count. The latest one I have is May 2011. I tried using that with PP2012. No good. I tried them all. I tried PP2010 with all the SDK options. Nothing but errors. I tried doing a collect scene inventory folder and tried importing that way. Same thing. I tried as an administrator with both Poser and Vue, still get errors.

I'm not new at this. I've been working with Vue for about 3 - 4 years, and Poser for nearly twice as long. I have never, ever had a single problem importing a Poser file into Vue, until now.

Sure it works as an exported object, but if it's a complex Poser scene, that's a LOT of work to manually go in and edit all those textures. The only thing I have not tried is the Collada export, which I'm about to try now.

But honestly, this is ridiculous. All this money for these programs, they should damn well work the way they are supposed to work. And to be told by both companies, that basically, it's not their problem to resolve, what the devil is that bull?????

If anyone out there can help me resolve this, I cannot begin to express how very, very grateful I would be. So I'm going to cross my fingers and hope someone knows how to fix this. Cause obviously the people that built the programs do not care enough to try and help me.

Nevermind, I got it working on my own. Thanks anyway!

I didn't have V4  weight mapped figure. But I have Genesis weight mapped in PoserPro 2012. It loads fine in Vue Infinite 10.5. I did a quick test scene with Genesis and some dynamic cloth! Poser Import works for me and it was never broken. I also imported Poser Physic scenes into Vue successfully.

Two problems are always to avoid in Poser:
In Poser General Preferences: turn off external binary morph targets and do not use external runtime from extern hard-disks.

I hope it help you.

I was going to suggest using a previous service release for Poser so that Vue 10 will recognize it.

Shawn, I have successfully imported PoserPro2012 SR2.1 scenes in Vue 10 and 10.5 Infinite. There is nothing wrong with import when everything is set up correct.
