Subject: OT: shameless support act - Animusic 3

You must know Animusic, the guys that generated zillion hits on youtube with their music driven animations: http://www.youtube.com/user/animusicllc?feature=results_main

Pipe Dream and Resonant Chamber are my absolute favorites, anyway. This is front-line 3D innovation, and I like it.

They're about to issue their 3rd DVD and more, and they do need your support. I gave mine by pre-ordering. You might like to give yours, in any way: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2040578790/animusic-3-dvd

They will succeed, I'm sure. So at least now you know it's coming. Finally.

Thay were selling the clips to tv stations as time fillers.  They use a lot of programming to automate the animations. Itrs still great stuff and shows how much detail an animator needs to do.

An effort worthy of support. Thanks for the reminder.

they are good, and the financing is about halfway now.

They still need all the support we can afford to offer...

those animusic vids are shown at breaks between programmes on PBS in silicon valley.  they're very good, but they show items dated back to 2004 or earlier, and one can really see how lighting has changed since then.  time and budget constraints may mean they couldn't use maxxed-out GI settings when doing animations.  they may have had to fake it with various shortcuts in the old days.

I would definitely encourage users to donate.

there are guys with deep pockets available, but they know that.  e.g. if they wish to become a publicly-traded company, they just need to pitch it to the VC suits.  they've already set up a company, but it doesn't say if it's public.  tell them to add a platinum level of $50K or more and the donors get a piece of the company.  animusic video game, animusic interactive site with forums and such, "animusic the movie", you name it.  maybe pitch it to pixar, then they could get those 64-bit machines and use IBL/AO or even GI (probably not).
