Subject: Tiles - Thoughts for Newcomers

The quality of a floor tile (any possibly any tile) isn't simply determined by its pixel resolution - the amount of territory covered is, often, equally important. A tileable floor texture that covers a small amount of territory is almost always going to look like patterned linoleum when repeated 20, 40, 100 times to cover the floor of the room. Seek relatively flawless patterns if you need to hide the fact that the final image is tiled.
