BB talks about puddles back in 2007 and says there is a shader on his site. My problem is I am in China currently and his site is blocked by the Givernment. Must have a nude vicki in a temple with a sword shader in his collection is why it's blocked
Not much but it refers to something on his site

then there is this thread on puddles of blood which might give some tips

It may be worth having a look at this: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2767844&page=1
In some of the stonemason scenes there is really good water on the ground. You could examine those scenes and see how he did it.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Hi. I am out of town again. Since this is a water prop, you don't have water plus ground in the same shader, just water. So you would use anything that I have posted for simple water.
It can be done with just the old Fresnel node.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

This image shows what I have so far with just a simple reflection node and transparency set to about .85.
Would be very happy to have the edges of the puddle fade in to a darker water in the center of the puddle.
The puddle is just a simple plane that can be moved up and down to change the depth of the puddle or hide it altogether.
The shape of the puddle comes from the fact that I modeled a depression in the truck lot as well as the brick alley and another loading dock you can not see in this image.
Yes it is city block twelve which is just about done.
Any help on this would most appreciated.
