Assuming the model is actually a group of objects rather than a single object, you first have to check the attributes of each object in the group & make sure it's either positive or negative (not neutral). Once all the objects are changed in this way, a C should appear at the bottom of the selectable items for the group when the group is selected (see attached figure). Click on the C to Collapse the group. Once it's collapsed, the Export Object menu choice should no longer be grayed out & you can export it.

IIRC you also need to make sure that there is a Booleaned group in there, even if it's just a tiny neg sphere booleaned with a positive primitive.

I've found that objects export very nicely if you follow those steps, but on your final collapsed model go back inro the attributes and recheck Positive BEFORE you run the Export routine. Works every time for me.

Hi RodS
I can offer some advice for your Space Ship you want to convert.
I hope that helps a bit.

Didn't see anything in the forum concerning this, so I thought I'd ask....
Is there a way to convert Bryce obp objects into an obj or 3ds format? I have Bryce 7 Pro (couldn't resist at such a great price...). I have a couple of Gendragon's spaceships I'd like to convert to obj or 3ds for use in Vue and/or Poser.
I know Bryce has an export feature, but it was grayed out with the ship selected. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
