Subject: cuts, scars, etc

there were products here at rendo that had either v4 textures with cuts, dirt, scars, etc ... and 2d brushes or merchant resources.

now when i do a search, nothing comes up...any ideas?

I did a marketplace search for scar and got a bunch of stuff.

i just found those a sec ago..thanks..they seem a little strong for what i was looking for. need something more like a scar that has been there for years...healed over pretty much, if you know what i mean.

If it's a minor skin aberration you're after you could "paint" it on the skin map or post-work it after render, in a 2D program. Most decent 2D programs have smudge, tone and saturation brushes - hey presto.

I would use a displacement map for a healed scar. I did a quick example (not the most realistic scar, but I was just throwing together an example):

Here is the scar, you can use it if you'd like... it's just a very simple drawing of one, hehe. :)
