Subject: Need help with Poser please

Wonderland ( ) posted Fri, 18 January 2013 at 6:48 PM · edited Thu, 07 November 2024 at 9:42 AM

I feel like an idiot because I've been using Poser since like version 3, but there so so many things I still don't know and I'd really appreciate it if someone could please help me with the following:

  1. How do I create a mirror of a pose?

  2. Is there a way within Poser Pro 2012 to create INJ/REM files? And if not, is there a utility that does it?

  3. If I create a custom morph and want to save it to use on V4, how do I do that? I tried spawn morph which created a dial with the character's name but with a value of 0 and have no idea how to make that into an INJ pose...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best,

Alicia aka Wonderland

Hmm, I tried that and it didn't seem to work. The character ended up facing backwards... I'll try again.

I don't know if this will help or not

This is about creating inj/rem poses.

For swapping poses you might try the script listed first under Animation

Svdl's "SpawnCharacterP6 update" mentioned in one of the links by wayneout, does not work in the most recent Poser versions. Snarlygribbly's SceneFixer does work in recent versions, and incorporates the same functionality as svdl's script.

Wow, this all seems so complicated...  I would think this would all be included as part of Poser by now. Every vendor uses INJ/REM, there must be a simple way to do it....  I looked up the scene fixer, but it doesn't even say what it does...

Thanks everyone, it looks like there are some useful pythons there, but I still am not sure which, if any, help me with the three things I needed in the original post...

If you save a new cr2 containing your morph , you can use a txt editer to cut out the part for the inj morph and make one manually.

There should be details in the forum for how to do that. A utility is good if you need to do a lot of them.

INJ/REM is one of those poser features that I'm pretty sure was discovered and popularized by the poser user base and has never been integrated officially into poser... Although you're right everybody does use it. If you are a Windows OS Poser user your options for creating INJ/REM poses are pretty open.

Just be careful not to include any copyrighted morphs in the files when generated and if you intend to redistribute.

Snarlygribbly's SceneFixer, Svdl's Spawn Character Poser 6, and Semidieu's Advanced Injection Builder can create INJ/Rem files. As can PhilC's Pz3Editor (pretty sure).

Creating clean redistributable INJ/REM for 3rd Party Figures for anything other than personal use is a bit more complicated, particularly if you are a Mac user... (if you are a Mac user hope your poser file editing skills are ready for the task).

Good Luck!

...Ostensibly a V4 facial morph MR (and a pretty nice one) but also includes an exhaustive 60 page .pdf The Poor Mans Guide to Pose Injection. Well worth the price of $10.00.

Here is how to save a morph as an INJ, using [SceneFixer](http://www.snarlygribbly.org/3d/forum/).

This only works for figures that use PBMCC channels (eg, Antonia, V3, V4, M4, etc). It is assumed that the morph in question already exists in the figure in the current Poser scene, and that you have installed SceneFixer.

1). Zero the figure's pose (so that no JCM's are expressed). In P9 you can use 'Zero Figure' in the figure menu.

2). Make sure that the morph that you want to save is the only one being expressed. Normally you will want to have it expressed at a value of 1.0.

3). From the Poser menu bar, select the 'Scripts' menu, from that menu select Snarlygribbly > SceneFixer. You should now see the SceneFixer interface.

4). In SceneFixer, click on 'Spawn FBM' (in the left hand panel).

5). In the 'Morph name:' field, type a name for your morph.

6). In the 'Morph channel:' field, click on the arrow, and select which channel you want the morph to be injected into.

7). In the 'Save INJ/REM in:' field, click the 'Browse' button, and select a location to save the INJ/REM files. This should be somewhere under a Pose folder in a Poser library. E.g:

My DocumentsPoser Pro 2012 ContentRuntimeLibrariesPose[optional sub-folder]

8). Click the 'Apply' button. The INJ and REM poses will be saved to the location you selected.

In Poser you can now open the pose library where you saved the pose, and apply it to the figure. Note that when you create a pose with SceneFixer, you need to refresh the library before you will be able to see the pose.

OK, thanks everyone. I do want to create something I can sell, so I'm not sure what a "clean" file is....  Luckily I have both a Mac & PC so I can take advantage of PC only software.

The SceneFixer python looks great except I still don't know what morph channel to set it to and how to set the FBMs and PBMs. I swear I've been using Poser for like 15 years, and I still don't understand any of these basic things! I can create pretty girls and dress and pose them like Barbie dolls, then do cool stuff in Photoshop, but there are so many tech parts of Poser I just don't know...  Urrrgh... Frustrated at myself for letting so many years go by without learning this stuff!

Hello Wonderland,

Look also at Utilities by Dimension 3D here at Rendo. Here is a link for injection and removal of morph:

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/binary-morph-editor/51221

Also, if you want to understand advanced concepts of Poser, I found the following book very instructive:

BL Render, Secrets of Figure Creation with Poser 5. (Check on Amazon for details).

Hello again Wonderland,

You are asking about what is a "clean" file. Please consult the following thread to have some tips.
