I've tried using Create UV overlay but the will not highlight so I can use it. Thoughts?

Hello,
I made a pair of jeans. I opened the object in adobe cs 5 and added zipper, pockets, etc so I could see where to place them. I don't want to export as an object because of other settings. I only want to export a texture map jpg. Is there a way to do that so I can?
I tired adding the zipper and pockets to the texture map but I'm having a horrible time getting them in the right spots and size. The obj is great for placing the png parts of the jeans correct but I have no clue how to get them out of the adobe to work in poser material room.
Any advice?
Thanks
Kimberly
