hi all,

i decided to take advantage of the fact that daz have studio for free download,so i managed to get everything working ok and got dson up and running, i can get the bare genesis figure into poser ok,but cant seem to get clothing in. is there a step by step guide to how i do this? note i want genesis clothing on genesis, not genesis clothing on v4 or m4 etc, i dont really want to use daz studio as it seems massively over complicated in my opinion.

You need to load genesis clothing via PCF (Poser Companion Files). You install those into the runtime where you have you genesis installed. The PCF file instruction DSON to load the genesis clothing (which are in DUF format) and convert them to something poser can  use.

So you need to install both the triax install files (this is the DS version of the cloth) and the PCF installers

If there are no PCF files you need to make them in DS4.5 or 4.6. But you better ask that in the Studio forums. That usually works, but not for all clothing items

A little slow compared to native Poser figures, but no real problem.

For the picture I loaded Genesis YT Julie, conformed the Journeyor Scout clothes to her, let DSON project the Julie shape to the clothes, posed her and rendered.

Loading Julie and converting the clothes were about two minutes combined.

And yes, what Wimvdb said: Use the Poser companion files to load Genesis clothing. Otherwise things get quite complicated....

:-)

Are you sure you installed both the Core and Companion files for the clothes? And that you are loading the clothes themselves, not materials for them (that's usually easier to spot in Poser than in DS).
