Subject: What's a good cloth prop?

I'm new to the cloth room and want to practice.  I know you can clothify clothing and stuff, but what if you wanted to do a large piece of cloth for something like a big tablecloth or large flag or tarp that molds to the objects it's covering?  I've been using Trekkigirl's supermorph sheet but noticed that it doesn't drape over objects with any detail.  I've adjusted the cloth density and such, but I think part of the problem is that the mesh itself just isn't fine enough.

Is there a large, high resolution mesh somewhere that can be used in the cloth room?

The new subdivisioin feature in Poser Pro 2014 is just for the preview and rendered images, right?  You can't actually subdivide the mesh and save the object that way, right?

Poser has a hi res cloth plane in the primitives folder.

and of course you can subdivide anything with snarly's subdivider http://snarlygribbly.org/3d/forum/viewforum.php?f=28&sid=b3bc3ba4e9b44ecb3b36691d03a30cac

and save it ;)

AFAIK, the new sub-d in PP2014 can be saved out as a new obj.  It is Snarly's script afterall.

This one looks pretty good.  It has a hook on the end and it's telescopic.  Not too expensive, either.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

I didn't realize that square in the primitives folder was a cloth square, and I'll experiment with saving out subdivided objects.

The high rez square is great for cloth simulations. I think its even called Cloth Plane as its internal name :)

My old Supermorphing sheet was made back in Poser 4, before the cloth room :) (I made the morphs by clothifying the thing in Max and saving out various drapes of that as morphs btw.. so it has been clothified it its far past ;) BUT I agree that it's not high rez enough for a proper Poser simulation. Then again it was never meant to be ;)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
