You could make an atmospheric fog. But it's a bit (hah! a lot) tricky to control. I think I'd use the depth cue thing and blend two renders in Photoshop (or similar program)

Haze like this is one of the things I'd wish were easier to do in Poser. It looks so pretty.

Come to think of it, the Terra Dome has some atmospheres... I have used them, but it's ages ago so I can't remember if they worked for this.

Hmm

I can see I did use postwork the last time I tried something like this. Unfortunately I didn't note anything else about it, other than I'd used postwork because Poser's fog was too unreliable. Dang.

Poser doesn't really do bloom. Ya might try Luxrender, which does.

Quote - You could make an atmospheric fog.

This effect is not fog - it's bloom as Laurie said. Look at the top of the left-hand column - observe how the back side which is in shadow is filled with light. Fog would not do that.

It is best applied as a post-work 2D effect, and will be most effective if you save your image in HDR format.

Quote - Current generation gaming systems are able to render 3D graphics using floating point frame buffers, in order to produce HDR images. To produce the bloom effect, the HDR images in the frame buffer are convolved with a convolution kernel in a post-processing step, ...

Here is bloom (and some lens flare) in a photo I took on a totally clear-air sunny day. It is purely a camera artifact, not something in the actual world.
