Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 10:28 pm)
Poser keeps the last 10 images in a temp folder so you can render several and then go back, display and save them.
It wopuld be easy enough to do a script to save to a specific folder and a filename built from the date and time. It might save a couple of mouseclicks.
I had a batch render script to load a scene , render it, save the render and then do the next scene file when I had to render overnight.
You should be aware that a script would not necessarily simplify the process. You would still need to set which format you would like to automatically export; and if the selection is jpg, the amount of resolution you would like to apply. Forget to change these settings prior to render would amount to exporting the wrong format for your workflow.
Quote - Not an animation. Something similiar to a photo shoot.
Do please bear in mind that the animation features of Poser are also useful for things other than making animations. I make most of my still image scenes as a virtual photo shoot these days. Each frame uses the same character and surroundings, but can have variations in camera angle, lighting, pose and expression. Once I'm happy with one "shot" I step onto the next. (One thing I need to be careful of is keyframing, so that earlier frames aren't modified by later ones; and I generally set linear interpolation for the entire scene.)
I make test renders, either of individual frames at the preview size, or of the whole series by making an animation which outputs to image files, using the quarter or half size options for speed. Once I'm happy with the lighting and materials, I run full-size renders, also using the Make Movie feature. This can run unattended if necessary, and I know that if it gets interrupted at any point the renders which did succeed will have been saved and I can start from where I left off.
Then I go through the output and pick the one(s) I want to keep and take on to the postwork stage. I don't think you'd need to change your workflow very much to take advantage of this method.
I'm not saying there aren't scripts available, and I'm sure it would be possible to write one. I've seen batch render scripts that take a folder full of PZ3s, but that isn't what you want. But think about the method I've outlined and see if it might be useful to you.
I don't know, but I'm running PoserPro2014, and the Window menu has a "Recent Renders" option. I guess it points to my C:UsersadminAppDataRoamingPoser Pro10RenderCache folder which holds ... renders in EXR (HDR 16bit/color) format. The ... can be set in General Preferences, Render tab, as "max chached renders".
Might be different in Poser10, but copying that folder to another place every hour or day or at PC startup will do the job anyway.
have fun

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.

Is there a script that auto saves your images as you render? Not not an animated series. Instead of having to export each image it saves somewhere in a designated folder.
