It used to be easy to spot if a character or hair was V4, but now with dawn on the scene it is not so easy.  I know I coould just browse dawn or V4 but I prefer to browse everything in the what's new page.

would it be possible to have a small V4 on the bottom left of all the thumbnails where the article includes a V4 item, and a small Dawn word if it is for Dawn?

I am sure lots of people would appreciate this.

PS I am aware some hair etc is for multiple items, but if even the characters could be marked and the poses, that would be helpful.

Absolutely that would be a good idea. If there will be much clothing etc. for Dawn in the marketplace a way to see instantly that something is for V4 and not be confused with Dawn products would be very useful and save time.

I'll third that motion. It always helps to know who we are looking at when.

It's not really the MP people to talk to it's the vendors as they supply the thumbnails etc. for their products.

well the MP makes the rules. I would like to see it. It never used to be confusing but with dawn and genesis looking kind of similar to V4 it is getting hard to tell what is what.

How about putting "V4" or "Dawn" in the product name?

Like "OOT Maria Hair V4"? Some people do that and others don't. That's an easy fix for vendors to make.

I vote for an icon or symbol or something too.  I tried looking at Dawn items and I couldn't even find the category.  I just fail hard at searching here.  Where is a general Dawn category?  I expected something like Figures -> Dawn but instead it looks like I have to go specialized for each search (Characters -> Females -> Dawn) and for hair it's like... Hair -> Female -> Models -> (pick a length?) -> Dawn.

The issue of an overlay/icon type thing has come up before in some context. If you search, you may be able to find the thread. I think in the end, I ended up suggesting a mouse over text AKA a tooltip in Windows. The advantage would be the ability to list multiple figures where appropriate. It’s not quite as convenient as an icon, but it still allows you to see what you need to see without clicking and going to the product page. ShareCG has something like this, though theirs also has a larger thumbnail image which wouldn’t be needed here. It also avoids vendors needing to name their products V4 this or that. One can argue they shouldn’t mind but I’m pretty sure some would. Also, again, there’s the problem of multiple figure items.

I’d like to see a more clear indication of required products up front. I see what looks like a dress and try to decipher from those tags clothing mesh texture whatever, whether it’s really a dress or a texture for a dress or accessories for a dress …. I’m talking about freestuff here, maybe the marketplace is more clear - and likely I'm missing the clarity as well. A mouseover would have to be implemented by the site and TBH, I think any icons should be as well, or at least a set provided to make it consistent and not have dozens of different V4 icons/indicators. Making it easy for people to tick off the relevant figures when they upload something and have it done would be ideal IMO. I’m sure someone will be along to say ‘just click on the thing and go look,’ but it’s a matter of convenience and efficiency ÷)

If you look at a product thumb, under the title is either a "R" in a circle or a "$" in a circle, with plenty of space to make a "D" in a circle. It's best to let the site handle it instead of vendors if such a feature is to be implemented. That way consistant results are achieved and the icons are structured and placed all the same.
