Subject: Possible to Rename Material Zones?

Darchind ( ) posted Sat, 21 September 2013 at 1:16 AM · edited Sat, 02 November 2024 at 9:25 PM

A few days ago, I asked if it was possible to delete unneeded material zones, and I was referred to a free utility called CR2Editor.

Is it possible to rename an existing material zone without deleting it, though?

Yes.  Simply use CR2Editor or Notepad++.  Search for the name of the material & replace it.  Easy peasy.  :)

Have a creative day!

Usually : Material zones are in 2 places.
In the obj file and in the cr2
You have to rename them in both places.

Note that your geometry definition (.obj file) will still refer to the old names, so you will have to do the rename trick there also.

Thank you for the information, everyone. I was looking for a "rename" option, but didn't realize it was the same as the "replace" option.
