Subject: Morphs

I get a feeling I'm being dumb again, but anyway. Why do I get a lot of morphs that don't work? What I mean is, particularly  when it comes to briefs, panties, bikini bottoms, and even K4 briefs. All the named morphs work, ie, chibi, realistic, thin etc, work great, but when I go to, "Others" and try to use, twist, smoo, offset or joint, nothing happens, whether in Hip, Body or anywhere! This is across many different items, Like 3DTM Fairy stuff, as I said K4 briefs, Katie 2 Bikini. Is it right that in settings I see + & - settings of 100,000 each way? That seems an awful lot of variation! Now, because I see this problem across nearly all the clothes, I get the feeling it's something I've done.

I would be really greatful for any help here. Many Thanks Gray

Edit: Upon re-readfing your post, I'm not sure if it's the below, or if you have not initialized your figure installs. If the figures you are using are Daz figures, did you run the bat files that come with them after doing the install? They are located under the !Daz folder in your libraries folder.

Many times there are no dials for the morphs even though the figure contains them.

This is because the clothing items do not contain the morphs. That is to say, the creator of the clothing did not see fit to design those morphs into the clothing.

If you have PP2014 you can just transfer the morphs ibnto the clothing using the "Copy morphs from..." function under the Figures menu.

If you have an earlier Poser, you can use Wardrobe Wizard to do the same thing, however, you will have to have the plugins for the characters you want to use. They are available at Phil Cooke's site, philcooke.org.

If youy have a really old copy of Poser, then check out the Morphing Clothes program available here at Renderosity http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/morphing-clothes/64629/

Your observation is correct.  It's not anything you're doing wrong!

Lots of the dials under "others" won't do anything.  In fact many of them don't even have "action code" inside the figure; they're just present by habit, or because the name is needed.

Generally the "others" category doesn't need attention unless you're developing or building a figure. You can leave that section closed.

As for the huge numbers: Again it's nothing you're doing wrong.  Nearly all morphs are designed to work within a range of -1 to +1.  But a few dials on a few figures may need to have a limit at a very large value.   Think of the windup key on a clock that needs to rotate 10 full turns.  Its dial will need to have a limit at 3600 degrees.   That's why the overall setup allows for huge values.

So, are you saying that clothes are affected by the K4 update? Or the Initialize? I must admit I do forget to update my figures quite often, but we are talking clothes here. I am commenting after simply loading the clothes into the work area, but not conforming to a character,  would that make a difference. Although I have tried the 3TDM on a K4 figure, and most of the Morphes don't do anything. I feel sure they are meant to. When I load any of these into the Morph Manager, it clearly shows them as Morphs, and I've tried transfering them to a stripped copy of the same item, but still no luck. I keep messing around, and see if I can get any joy. My main concern was that I hadn't accidentally switched something off in the main program, which is 2014 by the way.
Cheers Gray
