Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
Action animations nowadays last about 30 sec, consisting of about 20 shots / takes. I tend to use one Poser scene per one to three shots.
Altering the parenting sounda as a natural breaking point for changing scene files to me...

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.

Hi aRtBee,
Well, I guess I break the cardinal rule and make my animations a lot longer because I want to see the animation sequence completed.
It seemed reasonable to me too to break the link with the Set figure parent but this ends up in a mess but your comment about creating another animation that completes this and can follow it is perfectly right but I tend to loose the creative flow completely when I have to break up a sequence without completeing it in one segment.
What do you use to put a series of animation sequences together into one project?

I have been working on a scene featuring two skaters. I made the terrible mistake of parenting the female to the males hand with "Set figure parent" when I wanted the female to be lifted high and stay connected to the male figures hand especially when the pair are in motion.
The animation looked amazing it took a lot of hard work to do. Then I needed the female figure to be back on her feet again so I reset the female parenting to ground/universe to break the previous link and thats when things started going crazy. The female was flying all over the place. I can see why this was happening because I used the parenting feature but it was obviously the wrong way to do this type of animation.
What should I have done and is there is a better solution to do this kind of thing? How would you have done it and what features in Poser would you have used? I am using Poser Pro 2014.
