Subject: LuxRender, Reality Plugin & Poser Q?

Just installed LuxRender as a replacment for Firefly, it accesses Poser via the Reality 3 plugin.

Impressivly faster rendering images but I've run into a snag.

The Library window in Poser is now Blank, everything else works fine though.

Has anyone else hit this issue and resolved it?

Win7 64bit

i7 cpu

8gig ram

It might be something totally unrelated to LuxRender.  Have you recently run a Windows update?  Other related threads cite problems with the installation of IE11.  If that is the case, you will need to rollback to latest backup and prevent IE11 from automatically installing.

Hi. That is generally an issue with IE and Poser. what version of Poser are you running? What version of windows?

I have Reality 3 with Poser 2014 running on Windows 7 64bit also on an i7 system and I have never seen the problem you have described.  Like the others I suspect there is another reason for the blank window.

 

 

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Library window went blank after I installed Luxrender & Reality 3 but before I installed Python.

Not sure what the cause is, no error messages just a blank window.

Updated both Adobe Flash & air but no luck.

It's the latest update to IE that usually need to be installed. The Library uses IE components.

All window updates added, no change.

Still investigating.

Found the little $h1t, Preferences->Library->external.

Phew now its all finally working, time to test Luxrender & Reality3.

Setup a larger render scene this time (1920x180)

Luxrender is definetly slower but the render is better quality, eventualy.

Strange how it just keeps going until you decide to stop it but hey it works.

Much experimenting to do ahead.
