Is there a way to flip a light set? Perhaps a python script somewhere ?

Flip as in reverse x values and rotations ?

a script may be able to do that with spot and point lights and distant lights .

It wouldn't be very hard to do.

Do ou need to do a large number of lights often ?

I dont know if it is what you want, but if you feel like playing and can find a copy of mirror prop.py, you can get some interesting effects.

create a grouping prop, parent the lights to it, and then mirror it. has options to mirror on x/w/z axis.

Of course to just rotate, rotate the grouping prop
