Subject: Combine hair Growth groups?

JAFO ( ) posted Tue, 17 December 2013 at 10:48 PM · edited Sun, 15 December 2024 at 11:20 PM

I was wondering if there is a way to group several dynamic hair objects into one. I was having a problem with interpolated hair strands between guide hairs penetrating so I created multiple objects(70), these seem to work great, but when it comes to calculating dynamics... eeek! Not to mention the long list in the objects tab.

It would be great if I could combine all those objects into smaller more managable groups...Bang, side, back, etc.. I already know about the 'Create Grouping' but thats not what im after, I would like to make fewer objects if possible while retaining seperation in interpolation..   Thanks  :O)

Y'all have a great day.

I don't think it can be done. I don't see any way to do it. Maybe a script but it would probably mess up the styling or something. Dynamic hair is very tempermental. Maybe you could persuade Philc to share his script that he wrote to help him with managing the different hair groups.
