Hi Folks,

Dr Geep here (again). ๐Ÿ˜„

I just started looking into Poser 10's Library and I have found some fascinating new features that I'd like to share with you.

Come along and join the fun.

And remember, questions are always welcome.

We can make the Library (window) "float" to customize our screen.

Use the "Docking Menu" or Click & Drag when the cursor changes to a hand when it is placed over the top of a window.

Eeee Haaaa, A new Tut by the good Doctor. Library? hmm will this posted in the fiction or non-fiction section?

I have a question...Why did the librarian slip and fall on the library floor?
Because she was in the non-friction section.

Go Doc Go! You always uncover things about Poser us mere mortals never do!

Little known detail - the individual folders shown in the breadcrumb path - each of those are clickable to take you back to that folder. This is very handy when you want to go up two, three, or more levels and you don't want to search for that line item in the tree.

The first part of that path, if you click it, will take you to the base of all the branches for the categoryย you're looking at, and if you click it again, it will close all the open subfolders of that category.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Ok Where is the Docking Menue and do you mean you can have the library constantly floating. Thus be able to just use when looking for stuff so it dose not take up window space???

Hi rowlando,

That little tiny spec was shown on Page 2. ๐Ÿ˜„

And, in the "Glad you asked Dept." ...

Moving between the Main (Pose) window and the Library is easy - when you know how. ๐Ÿ˜„

  1. Float the Library
  2. Close [X] the Library
  3. Click the small icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen to reOPEN the Library.

Geep you are so helpful, thanks

I am interested how to remove the list of renders in that window along side the pose window.

Is there a way of simply deleting all at once??

Thanks Rowlando

Sorry, I do not know of any way to delete all at one time.

Perhaps someone else can suggest a method.

Rowlando, are you talking about the images that show up in the pallet titled Recent Renders?

I assume they are located in the same folder under Windows and as they are on a Mac. I am on a Mac....

You can navigate to the folder where your runtime library is located, file libraryPrefs.xml which I assume the Good Doctor will cover in this tut on how to reorder mulitple runtimes from the drop down list in the library pallet. There you will find a folder titled (without the quotes) "RenderCache" That is where the files that are displayed on the Recent Renders are located. Just delete the various files in the RenderCache Folder. Then from the drop down titled Window close or remove the check mark on Recent Renders. The window will disappear. Then select it again (add a check mark) to update it and the window or pallet will now display or re-appear empty. The files have the extension exr.

Word of caution if you delete 100 percent of the files located in the RenderCache Folder in will also remove your last render. So when you click on the tab Render next to Preview it will come up blank. The way to prevent that is sort the folder by date and leave the newest one in place if you want to keep the last render and have it displayed.

I hope this is what you were asking about. If not, sorry for screwing up the Good Doctor's thread.

Solved the issue, I was simply deleting each one at a time.
