I'm new to Poser (9) and had my first crash, it was probably something...but I was looking around and noticed in my C Users appdata local temp Poser 9
there is a heap of stuff including lots of txt files, should I delete these?

You can delete them without any problems, and it's just possible that you might solve a problem.  Most of these are cached texture files, which supposedly speed up Poser's rendering; but sometimes the caching causes more confusion than speed.  (As in "I thought I revised that figure; why am I still seeing the old version?")
