Subject: Older V4s?

MKDAWUSS ( ) posted Sat, 01 March 2014 at 11:55 AM · edited Thu, 21 November 2024 at 11:53 PM

(This might be the wrong place to ask this, but here it gets placed anyway, so...)

I've been doing some searching around for some older V4s (in terms of age appearance, not release date lol), and I've been coming up short. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places or using the wrong keywords, but I'm having a hard time finding a V4 that doesn't look to be between the age of 18 and 35.

So I gotta' ask... where are the V4 grandmothers?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I have/use http://www.daz3d.com/aged-for-v4-m4

The injections work fine in Poser, but the maps/displacement need to be added/altered manually since it only comes with DS presets. I just throw an image_map node into the displacement channel, add the appropriate displacement map and adjust the displacement strength until I find what I want. One of these days I'll just make partial mats w/ varying degrees of displacement.

/edit

I found P4, P5, P6, and PP mat presets for these under Libraries:Materials:Aged M4V4, but they're not from the original product. Not sure where they came from.

There's this classic

http://www.daz3d.com/3d-celebrity-lola

and my favourite

http://www.daz3d.com/francesca-for-v4

You don't have to use them in full either but in smaller increments you can achieve a bigger range of ages.   I've used Francesca here with considerable tweaking of the morph with my settings:  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2464907&user_id=2482&np&np

Two sets of freebie morphs you should definitely have for V4:

http://www.sharecg.com/v/51777/View/11/Poser/Maturing-V4-Morph-Pack

The second especially has everything you'll ever need to age V4.

You can also modify any texture you like with ZevO's skin overlays.  The merchant resource works great for this and is a good investment if you plan on making several characters and/or an aged Michael.

You're welcome Nanette!   If you have to choose between the two may I strongly suggest Francesca?   Her overall texture has more aging detail especially in the neck, elbows, knees and so on.

Are there any 50 year old actress look alike morphs? textures?

Cheers

Rowlando, according to the site, Horizon by Syyd Raven at Runtimedna is intended to address the need for a middle-aged woman rather than a crone.

You can also add the morphs by Colm that go with Horizon.

I am not familiar with Zev0's product at DAZ, but it sounds as if that would fit the bill too.

I have sometimes managed quite well with regular textures and the ++ morphs for V4, but I haven't done many close-up renders of mature caucasian women.

Hi Thanks did check out the products.

I think most ageing can be achieved with skin maps and the like in poser.

the morphs depending on what age you want to achieve will vary including how much weight on the face and body you could morph.

I don't think the really old granny images look that great but I am more interested in the movie star type older faces that look mature but not that aged they resemble drastic change that happens to some old people.

Thanks for the help. Rowlando

I think that there was one called "Miriam" at DAZ that was pretty good as well.
