Subject: SceneFixer panel resize?

jancory ( ) posted Tue, 01 April 2014 at 2:10 PM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 9:03 PM

i use snarly's SceneFixer all the time but on my new 15" laptop i cannot get the whole panel to show, the bottom half with all the buttons is stuck off the bottom of the screen.  is there an easy fix?  my screen res is set at 1368x766, highest it can go.  thanks!

Can you not grab the top and pull it down, then grab the middle and center things up?

tried resizing & shifting it around but still can't get to the bottom, was hoping a scroll bar would magically appear on the side but it didn't :(

You can modify the script to shrink the window.

Make a backup copy of it, save it somewhere for reference.

Open SceneFixer.py in a text editor.

search for:  class mainFrame

Three lines down is a: wx.Panel  line.

In that line is: window size, change the size from 654,700 to 654,536

Resave the script and your good to go.

I am using version 1.9.0 and it works fine that way.

thanks to you both.  i ended up having to downsize the text on my computer to see the whole thing, but now the type's way too small for these old eyes.  couldn't find a font-size setting in the script but i could easily have missed it like i missed shvrdavid's window size thingy.

Changing Font in this case.

Open SceneFixer.py in a text editor

Look for a line that starts with: "wx.Panel.init".  It is line 377 here.

Directly below that line, add the following 3 lines and before EACH line, press tab twice so it's all the same indentation as "wx.Panel.init":

self.baseFont = wx.SystemSettings_GetFont(wx.SYS_DEFAULT_GUI_FONT)
self.baseFont.SetPointSize(10)
self.SetFont(self.baseFont)

You can change the number between the parenthesis after SetPointSize to whatever you want.  9 is usually Windows OS default.  This is still going to cut off some text on the left "bar"

Footnote: In wxPython, as long as you declare the font right before the UI is constructed, it will affect everything in the script.

thank you, will try that this evening when i'm back on the laptop.  is there an easy free python editor?  i've been using notepad but it'd be nice to use something with a little bit of organization.  -j-

I use Notepad++, mainly for the highlight matching.
