Subject: split an edge like in 3ds max

cfpage ( ) posted Wed, 23 April 2014 at 2:45 PM · edited Wed, 18 September 2024 at 10:11 AM

In max I can select a loop of edges and hit split now I have 2 loops in the same place so now I can move one loop to the side and have an opening, so if I had a cylindar and split the edge loop in the centre i can make an opening without deleting polys

how do I do this in blender

I used 3dmax for long time in past.  I switch to Blender after leaving studio, and find almost all the same tool, but must learn new titles and keys.  3dmax had more of the modifiers, but important to use extensions for equal tools.
