I'm really enjoying your PDF, aRtBee, and the only thing that I thought was odd was that I couldn't find anything listed for materials like Perspex and certain plastics where you list the index values used for various materials. I saw lots of values for materials I've never heard of, but some everyday stuff appeared to be missing from the list. That's the only thing I can think of if you want suggestions.
I think it's a very carefully and professionally produced manual, very nice, cheers
Good point, thanks, perhaps this: http://www.pixelandpoly.com/ior.html will help you out.
Most of the common plastics seem to have an IoR between 1.45 and 1.50, by the way. Light quality glass will do.
The'' uncommon" stuff in the list are gemstones. It's nice to know how they score between just glass and diamonds, that's why.

Hi all,
about three weeks ago I made my first part of the Material Room tutorials kit available, for offline (PDF) reading, as announced and described in http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?message_id=4150615
Now, the info is available online as well, all links and illustrations included. The tour starts at: http://www.book.artbeeweb.nl/?book=material-room .
I hope you like to contribute, by just telling me whatever you think can be improved upon.
