Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
I like to have shadows on my hair(s). It looks weird without them. So I turn off "light emitter" on transmapped items, but leave shadow casting on.
Back when my machine was slower, I would render one scene without the hair, and then render another with the hair, with shadows still on, but with other parts of the scene removed, such as the figure skin textures (except the head and maybe neck, etc, where the hair shadows would show, but minus eyes with reflections) and without clothing and other things that I wouldn't need. Then composite the two renders.

*I have Lavender hair on Victoria...but it takes ages to render!...i think this is because the hair is transmapped?...or something like that. Without the hair on her head my renders are blazing fast...but as soon as i put the Lavender hair on her head...it takes ages to render!...is there any way to speed up render times with this kind of hair?...any tricks?...special settings?...** *
