Subject: more about my ecosystem where people change textures

I dont think the magic is happening due to any ecosystem settings because when I add in another "person" dave, his textures stay the same. I wonder if the other 2 people maybe have animated materials ie one frame they are one colour and the next frame another?

In this image there are only 3 people but two of them change colours.

I still don't get it.
