Hi..The last time I designed anything under Poser was Ver 6, dont laugh, I have brought my self up to Poser 10 and still remember a lot about Poser period BUT...What are YOU using to move files to their appropriate spots under Poser...meaning:  I purchase something here, its zipped, is there a app NOW that auto-loads  or am I still seperating all files and moving manually.....I used to unzip in a test directory and move each sub-dir to where it would need so I could use whatever it may have been from a character or a pose or so on...I know the majority are EXE applied but many are still a under the runtime regiment...I appreciate any help in bringing me up to speed.....Most of my designs were posted on Deviant....Thanks for reading and yall have a good day...

In Poser 10, you have the option to install from ZIP file.

Goto the Content tab.

The second button is : Install from ZIP Archive

Poser 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, P8 and PPro2010, P9 and PP2012, P10 and PP2014 Game Dev

That works well if the ZIP archive is set up correctly.

It is always a good idea to check first.

If the zip file is correct, you can use your unzipping program to put everything into place with one click. But if it is not, you have to fix it.

Poser 11 Pro, Windows 10

Auxiliary Apps: Blender 2.79, Vue Complete 2016, Genetica 4 Pro, Gliftex 11 Pro, CorelDraw Suite X6, Comic Life 2, Project Dogwaffle Howler 8, Stitch Witch

I must point out an exception.  DAZ has now switched to zip format for all their files, but you must use the Download Install manager to appropriately load content in the runtime folders.  Otherwise, you will need to manually decompress content into a temporary runtime then move the folders into their new location.

was something a while back that did all the checking and stuff (cant remember what it was called or if it got updated)

I use the temp folder method but every now an then you need to get OCD and tidy up ;-)

For Windows, a program PowerDeskPro 9.0 will give you advanced file manager control. It has a right click extract function and it treats zip file as though they are just another folder and you can copy directly from inside the zip if you need to go back and get something.

P3dOExplorer can probably do pretty much the same thing, but I am much more familiar with PowerDesk.

Unzipping to an outside folder gives you control over where you want to put some things (Library files mostly - if you do not want to do any path editing.)

If you are really OCD, with P10 you can put everything relating to a product inside one Library folder (CR2 Hr2 PP2 OBJ PMD textures mc6 pz2 readme)  if you do not mind text editing the paths to the OBJ / PMD / textures.  I keep textures in a one subfolder mc6/pz2 in another.

PhilC PZ3editor has a batch Find/Replace plugin that will edit the path in a whole folder of mc6/pz2 (cr2/pp2/hr2 also) at one click.  Just make sure that no PMD file is in the folder where you do it.

If you have the right zip utility you do not need to unzip DAZ zip files to a temp folder first, you just extract the folders and files inside the "Content"  folder in the zip.
