You might look for the rockfish;  it comes with a koi-like MAT or two.

Hi

I can't help with the Koi for Poser but I have a bunch of them in my back yard.

Maybe BagginsBill could be persuaded to share his avatar shader, I don't think he posted it up to now. It looks pretty Koi to me.

I'd enjoy seeing BB's koi shader.  math to generate scale shape/size/displ. would be complex.

The development of the fish scales in my avatar came in this thread.

I have not gone through it completely to see what's there, but it is where my avatar first appeared.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

One of my earliest gallery uploads came from that shader.

here's one with BB's scale shader at rdna.  switch u & v variables to re-align; drop v-mod to 20 or 15 to widen scales.

carp obj needs remapping (e.g. no scales on head nor fins), add thickness to fins, et al.
