Subject: Can U Dson import G clothes, save CR2, then convert to V4

grichter ( ) posted Sun, 30 November 2014 at 4:20 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 6:30 AM

Subject says what I am curious about.

I have to assume their could be Bone issues that could be a major stumbling block So to save myself the frustration of attempting it myself...I have to assume somebody has already tried this.

Import Genesis 2 clothes via the Dson importer. Save off as a CR2 and then either convert by one of the add-on packages or refit inside the latest version of Poser.

If you have done this...what success have you had and what types of clothes failed? what to look out for---pitfalls if any (if it is possible)

Thanks in advance for any feedback and if there has been a thread on this subject in the past, a link to that thread would be great too

Hmm, I haven't done this.

Do you use Daz at all? If so have you tried dialing in the V4 shape for whichever version of Genesis your using. Apply the clothing/prop/hair or whatever it is to Genesis. Then export that item out as an OBJ which will fit V4. Then load the item into Poser and rig it? Better yet if you have V4 shape for the Genesis figure and can use it in Poser do the same steps as above without Daz but Poser instead. I know there are some morph tools that will allow you to transfer morphs to clothing items and there are some rigging tools to. Just maybe it is possible, might not be how I thought of  doing it but some how I think it would work.

I went digging all over the place in the last 48 hours and evilinnocence has a tut posted where you load in Daz export as a CR2 and let Corssdresser do the conversion. traveling on business until Saturday so will install Daz on my home computer and give the tut a go. Here is the link to the tut  http://www.evilinnocence.com/using-crossdresser-with-genesis/
