Subject: Shader for Lotus blossoms?

The ones I have look too plastic. I am -hoping- to get that slightly translucent look to the petals. SSS would do that but..I am abit lost on how to get it with the petals.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

this is sim. to BB's basic scatter shader. if there's free lotus blossom, I can try it.

may need hsv nodes even if it's not really saturated.  ISTR it don't work unless hsv<--------scatter

BB also did this one to give waxen appearance (less glossy/plastic).

p.s. was surprised that old link actually worked!  most of 'em don't

Thanks MN - I couldn't find the thread - looked for it for about 15 minutes.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

they mayn't find any lotus blossoms for poser whose petals have thickness, so they could change out scatter with diffuse.  they can also use their modeller to add thickness to petals.  in one of their poser renders with shadow-mapped lites and empty scene, diffuse probly adequate.
