Subject: A suggestion for your "from the past" sales events

Winterclaw ( ) posted Sun, 07 June 2015 at 11:35 AM · edited Wed, 11 December 2024 at 6:42 PM

I've seen a common theme in your "from the past" sales events you've had these past two weeks.  It's a good idea and all, but it's lacking coordination.  Here's a great example, you are selling a ton of add-ons for products, I noticed one for this week was a bustier dress add-on.  Here's the problem: the original which was sold by rendo isn't available and isn't in the sale.  It is also from a member who I believe is still active in the RMP.

Considering that the RMP is one of the primary sources of revenue for your site, couldn't you guys at rendo agree that maybe a little more coordination for a sale like you are having would be a good thing?  I mean if you are going to bring the add-on back into the sales area, why not the thing it modifies as well?

WARK!

Thus Spoketh Winterclaw: a blog about a Winterclaw who speaks from time to time.

Thank you Winterclaw. I will bring this up to our staff.

Thanks!

After talking more with the store staff I wanted to talk a bit more about your suggestion.

We understand what you are saying but we are talking about thousands of products that we "broker" not own. It is the vendors that send in the ones they want to bring back and we can't go one by one through thousands of submissions to see. Also there can be tons of customers that had the original base but never bought the add on and now they want it. We understand it would be good, but we just simply can't due to time. Lastly it is up to the vendor to coordinate with the base maker vendor.

Hope this helps!

Vendors and Renderosity please note.

I like the concept of bringing back deleted items. I hope it continues and I hope that deleted items will 'reappear' more than once. There is only so big a pocket book and because I do not buy it this time doesn't mean I don't want it, rather only that I have to choose between items.

I also agree with Winterclaw.  Perhaps one suggestion might be for the vendor to note to Renderosity whether the item required is available and then for Rendo to alert the primary vendor to the opportunity that another vendor may be providing with the add-on. If you do this regularly perhaps the process may be automated so that there is no burden on vendors since in theory the site already knows whether a companion item is available or not.

Here's an example this week where an interesting product was brought back (note also the positive reviews):

And Renderosity does have the base product in their inventory:

... but like a pussycat staring at a sealed can of tuna, I can see it but I cannot get at it!

I too like the return of older products. This could be a sales feature incentive for prime members. Access to "the vault" as Disney would put it (with their animated features).

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.
